Know what you know!
Friend: “Do you know me?”
Me: “I think so! May be I don't know you, but I understand you!”
“If you don't know me, how can you understand me?”
“Because understanding is something based on your own experience! I can understand why or how you're acting on particular events, that doesn't give me knowledge about who you are!
Like if you say that: ‘I'm in love with someone, and I don't know what is happening to me when he appears in front of me’ I understand what you wanna say me and how you could feel at that moment, that doesn't mean that I know you! That is just a feeling that we both have faced at some point of our life!
“That means you're understanding a situation not me!”
“May be, yes!”
“But you said you can understand ME!?”
“Yes!”
“No! You don't!”
“Why? I mean how?”
“Here you gave an example about you understand a situation, not me! So you are just aware about that situation, not me! Right?”
“No no, that situation is about YOU, so I understand YOU!”
“What if it's a situation that you didn't experience yet!?”
“If I haven't gone through such situation, how can I say you that I can understand you? For that, I should know the feeling first! Without experiencing it, I could have not understand you! Or I'm just pretending!
You know, lot of people just pretend that they understand you, but actually they don't! They don't even know what you are saying means to you a lot!”
You know, lot of people just pretend that they understand you, but actually they don't! They don't even know what you are saying means to you a lot!”
“That means, you can't understand anybody if you don't understand a situation and if you don't understand a situation that means you've been never gone through it! So indirectly you can't understand anybody completely!”
“That's possibly true! But here comes answer to your question 'Do you know me?’! It's upon how much you know someone! It will also affect how much you understand them! Even if you have not gone through such situation, you can feel what they're Saying and that could be your experience! It also depends on how mature you're to understand things!
When you know someone, you don't have to experience such situation to understand them, you can feel what they are trying to say you! That's the difference between knowing someone and understanding someone!
UNDERSTANDING is something what you have experienced and KNOWING is something how much you understand them!”
A conversation with my friend, fellow Error member, Hetanshi! So, think about it! Do you really know someone you are thinking you know, or it is just your experience that made you to understand them well!
This is Rotli, please Know what you know!
I think....
ReplyDeleteunderstanding is a relative thing depending upon circumstances and events true but
Knowing is not always understanding them. Sometimes we can not even understand what's going inside us, we can not expect others to understand us.
Knowing is something like putting your feet in someone's shoes knowing that size may differ, Sometimes we adjust with that (knows that person) and sometimes we fall (that doesn't mean we don't know them it's just that one day we can not handle).
In case of understanding we just admire shoes from a distance and thinks i too have a same pair but only the wearer knows what it's actually like....
You're correct that knowing is not always understanding, but that's not what I wanted to say! I said knowing is HOW you understand them! May be you can't feel the same as they are feeling but at least you can understand that how could it be if you know them, if you know their nature, their behavior, their mindset, body language! And I've actually realised this and experience this feeling of knowing someone even his situation was something that I've never experienced! Because just I know him very well, that even I can accurately predict what his next reaction can be, I can totally understand his feelings! Yes obviously I can't feel exactly like him but I will definitely understand how it can be for him! And yes sometimes we could fail to understand them but that ‘sometime’ doesn't last long!
DeleteWhat you're saying is true when you're not attached deeply with someone! (Here you can take example of you and your sister, I think you know her and can better understand her just by looking at her without any interactions!)
And yes maybe what I'm feeling about knowing someone is wrong because I know you are more deep thinker than me and you have some "great" experiences in you life! As you're my inspiration to this way (our novel, this site, my contents everything) teach me where I'm wrong!
I agree with every word but i just intended to say sometimes we cannot understand our self's maybe that person can also not predict what we can do or how we can react (Happens with me a lot).....
DeleteAnd In some or the other way you are my inspiration and will always be and don't praise me i am just like you, an novice. i just kept my point of view....
Everyone has there, no one is wrong or correct it's just about perception.....
